Paul Joseph - my son died from adenocarcinoma of the stomach. It is a deadly disease: challenging to detect in its early stages and very aggressive.
In one short year after detection, Paul died on November 8, 2014.
Paul and I will ride, hoping that the money we raise will help find an early detection test and cure for Gastric Adenocarcinoma.
I am using Paul's bicycle, purchased before his death, to raise money targeted towards research for
early detection and prevention programs. Cancer can be cured, if found in the early stages. However, in
Paul's case, detection occurred in the fourth stage. At this stage, cancer is very dominant and few, if any, can be cured.
More research is required to develop programs to detect cancer in the early stages and determine how
to prevent cancer, if possible and cure it even if discovered in late stages. I believe that early detection
and cure are possible with current technology, and such a program will make a difference in preventing deaths.

After Paul's death, I needed to do more to support the fight against cancer. Cancer is too big a disease
to ignore. The "Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer" is my way of doing something about it.
The Enbridge® Ride to Conquer Cancer® benefiting Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is a two-day, 200-kilometre cycling journey through the Canadian countryside
that I’ll be making on June 8 & 9, 2019. I have Paul's bike, helmet and I will train throughout the year to be ready, but to guarantee my Ride success, I need your support!
After Paul’s death, I had a need to do more to support the fight against Cancer. Cancer is too big a disease to ignore. The Enbridge Ride to Conquer
Cancer is my way of doing something about it.
Funds raised through The Ride directly benefit Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, one of the world's top
5 cancer research centres, and will move us closer to Conquer cancer's vision in Our Lifetime. So when
you give, your donation will make a life-changing impact for cancer patients right here in Ontario! Your
gift is entirely tax-deductible.
Once again, I will use Paul's bike and helmet for the ride. I will train throughout the year to be ready. Your monetary gift is very much appreciated!
Thank you so much
for your contribution and for your support!
